Position Description:
The Department of Chemistry at Cleveland State University (CSU) invites applications for a  full-time, tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in inorganic chemistry. The University, College of Sciences and Health Professions, and Department seek to  attract an active, culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber. The successful candidate is expected to establish and sustain a vigorous, externally funded research program that adds to and/or complements research interests of faculty in our Clinical/Bioanalytical PhD program, a  joint program with the Cleveland Clinic. The  successful candidate is also expected to have strong commitment to teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry as well as other areas of chemistry. It is expected that the successful applicant will contribute through teaching and service to the diversity and/or cultural sensitivity of the academic community.
Job Requirements
  • *    Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field.
  • *    Post-doctoral research experience in inorganic, bioinorganic or related fields
  • *    Experience in teaching chemistry at the undergraduate or graduate levels.  Excellent verbal and written communication skill
Preferred Qualifications:
  • * 2 or more years of postdoctoral research experience
  • * A strong publication record in inorganic chemistry or other related areas
  • * Experience and prior success in obtaining external funding
  • * Documented excellence in teaching chemistry at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.
