Kenyon Visiting Instructor Position – Spring 14

We have to fill two Spring 2014 teaching positions in the Chemistry Department at Kenyon College.  We have a need for two instructors to fill four sections of laboratory class.  This  will likely be Introductory Chemistry laboratories, but for those with expertise a section of Organic Chemistry laboratory might also be possible.  (Two sections are open due to a junior leave and two sections are open due to an unexpectedly high enrollment in Introductory Chemistry.)  Our labs meet for 14 weeks between January 13-May 9, 2014 and we would expect the instructor to be available for an additional one hour to meet with students (per lab section) and one hour to coordinate with other faculty.  Also, there is a possibility that the position could continue through the 2014-2015 academic year.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or related discipline, but consideration will be given to those with Masters.  Pay is competitive and the spring semester begins on January 13th (a full academic calendar can be found at (http://www.kenyon.edu/academics/academic-calendar/).   At this point we are looking to see if there is interest in the local community.  To that end,  interested people should send me an email of interest, a copy of their CV, and names of three references by October 18th, 2013.

We would appreciate if you could forward this on to potential applicants.  More information on the Kenyon Chemistry Department can be found at
