The Georgia Institute of Technology, School of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for the full-time position of Freshman Chemistry Stockroom Manager. A B.S. in Chemistry with relevant experience is required. Responsibilities include managing and supervising the day-to-day operations of the freshman laboratory and stockroom and supervision/training of student stockroom attendants. Additional information about the position:

The Freshman Chemistry Stockroom Manager will be involved in all aspects of the freshman chemistry program in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Initial responsibilities will include: (i) maintaining inventory of chemicals, glassware, and equipment; (ii) coordinating with the Director of Freshman Chemistry and Freshman Chemistry Laboratory Coordinator to generate and monitor a laboratory budget; (iii) maintaining laboratory instrumentation; (iv) training and supervising teaching assistants and stockroom attendants; (v) preparation of chemicals and materials for laboratory experiments; (vi) assist faculty with development and design of new experiments; (vii) assist faculty with preparation of laboratory grant proposals.

This is a full-time (12 month) staff position. The individual will work closely with the Freshman Chemistry Laboratory Coordinator, Director of Freshman Chemistry, and the Associate Director of Freshman Chemistry.

The School endeavors to provide high-quality educational experiences to students from a variety of majors across the Institute. Georgia Tech’s cohort of entering students is among the most highly qualified at a public institution (the average SAT of entering students is approximately 2025 and average high school GPA of 3.90/4.00). The Freshman Chemistry program serves approximately 2,500 students per year (fall, spring, and summer semesters).
