2015 REU Summer Internship

The College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering at The University of Akron will be offering a competitive summer research experience (REU) program for the Summer of 2015, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, The University of Akron, and corporate sponsors.

Students will participate in an 11-week internship to investigate a fundamental question within the broad disciplines of polymer science and polymer engineering, including chemistry, physics, characterization, and biomaterials.  These interns will take part in research and career development activities, discussions outlining their research progress and visits to regional companies.  The summer will culminate with an oral or poster presentation of each intern’s research results at the Northeast Ohio NSF-REU Undergraduate Research Conference.

Stipends will be $7,000, which will include $2,000 to be used for on-campus housing.

Our program will begin on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, and will end on Friday, August 7, 2015.  For further information, please visit our website:  http://www.uakron.edu/cpspe/academics/reu-summer-internships.dot.

Please encourage qualified students to apply.  The application deadline is Friday, February 6, 2015.  Attached, for your information, are our 2015 announcement and application.
