Last cycle of Mellon program at Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture

Good afternoon!
I wanted to alert you all to this upcoming deadline for the The Smithsonian NMAAHC Andrew W. Mellon Conservation Internship Program. You can find more information available here online: http://nmaahc.si.edu/GetInvolved/mci-app but the eligibility requirements do include the following:
  • Only U.S. Citizens and U.S. Permanent Residents
  • A cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Undergraduate and Graduate (Master’s) students, currently enrolled in, or recent graduates, pursuing varying types of degrees (e.g.: Art History, Chemistry, Computer Science, Design, Photography, Studio Art, etc.), at HBCUs or other institutions, who have an evident interest in the conservation of African American heritage
  • Preferred qualifications include introduction to chemistry, excellent hand skills, and a desire to learn more about conservation of objects.
Perhaps you have students who may be well-suited and have specific interest.  Please feel free to forward this information to them.
