Summer Data Science Fellowship Opportunity

Good afternoon,

The Career Center Team saw this as an opportunity worth sharing with you.

Program: The Data Incubator is an intensive 8 week fellowship that prepares Masters, PhDs, and postdocs in STEM + social science fields seeking industry careers as data scientists. The program is free for Fellows and supported by sponsorships from hundreds of employers across multiple industries. In response to the overwhelming interest in our earlier sessions, we will be holding another fellowship.

Locations: There will be both an in-person (in NYC, DC, SF) and online section of the fellowship. There is a common application for both the online and in-person sections.

Dates: All sections will be from 2016-06-06 to 2016-07-29

Who should apply: Anyone within one year of graduating from a masters or PhD program or who has already obtained a masters or PhD is welcome to apply. Applications from international students are welcome. Everyone else is encouraged to sign up for a future session.

Position Summary Information
Job Description
The Chemistry Department at Edinboro University is seeking a part-time Chemistry Instructor for the 2016-17 academic year. There is a potential for up to full-time employment dependent upon enrollment and the needs of the University.

Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. or terminal degree in Chemistry, or a closely related field. ABD will be considered.

Finalists will be required to deliver a short mock lecture via Skype or other video-over-internet system.

Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and credential verification. Finalists may be required to complete an interview and/or demonstration. Fluency in English language for final candidates will be assessed.

Preferred Qualifications
Two years of experience teaching undergraduate students. Demonstrated experience working with diverse student populations.

Specific Duties
Duties will include teaching major and non-major preparatory and introductory chemistry (lectures and/or labs).

Research with undergraduate students will be encouraged. All faculty are required to hold a minimum of five office hours per week.
