Assistant Professor Positions Currently Available

The Chemistry Department (www.sciences.ucf.edu/chemistry/) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for 3 tenure-earning positions and 1 open rank position set to begin in fall 2017. The following positions are currently open.

Assistant Professor in Biochemistry
The selected applicant will be expected to establish a prominent, externally-funded research program; teach biochemistry and other courses in the department at the undergraduate and graduate levels; and provide service to UCF and the profession. Eligible applicants will have a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline; at least two years of postdoctoral experience; and a strong record of high impact research. Assistant Professor in Environmental Chemistry
The selected applicant must have the minimum qualifications of a Ph.D. in chemistry or closely related field from an accredited institution, and at least one year of postdoctoral research experience with a demonstrated track record of research productivity in environmental chemistry. The candidate will teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and develop externally-funded, nationally-competitive research. State-of-the-art laboratory space and a competitive start-up package can be expected. Credit towards tenure may be considered for outstanding applicants.

Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry
The selected applicant will be expected to establish a prominent, externally-funded research program, teach chemistry at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and provide service to UCF and the profession. Eligible applicants will have a PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline from an accredited institution, at least two years of postdoctoral experience, and a strong record of well-regarded research in organic chemistry. Open Rank Professor in Chemistry
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field, and have relevant postgraduate experience in any area of chemistry, including interdisciplinary and applied focus areas. Senior candidates at the Associate or Full Professorship level are expected to have a proven record of independent funding and a current outstanding publication record. Exceptional candidates at the Assistant Professorship level also with established independent funding and a good publication record are also encouraged to apply. All candidates will be expected to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels and provide service to the University, Department, and professional organizations.
