Paid Summer Teaching Positions for College Students

The Aspire Program at Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights, Ohio is a summer academic enrichment and leadership development program for middle and high school girls in grades six through nine.

Each summer, we hire twelve students from colleges and universities across the country to serve as Core Academic Teachers (CTs) in our program.

Core Academic Teachers (CTs) are college students who are interested in education. You do not have to be an education major to teach at Aspire! You simply have to have a passion for working with young people and a desire to have a positive impact on the future of education!

Each CT teaches an academic class in one of four disciplines: Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts, and an elective workshop for five-weeks. Through the guidance and support of a mentor teacher, CTs develop their own curriculum around the given class theme as well as a curriculum for an elective workshop of their choice. Through our daily faculty meetings, young teachers will have the  opportunity to participate in professional development workshops and learn about the daily lives of teachers.

Candidates for the CT position must be available to work from June 14, 2017-July 28, 2017.  This is a paid position with a $2,000 stipend.

Interested candidates can visit our website to download an application by clicking here.  Completed applications are due by January 17, 2017.
