34th H.C. Brown Lectures in Organic Chemistry

It is once again our pleasure to extend a warm invitation to the 34th Herbert C. Brown Lectures in Organic Chemistry at Purdue University.

This year’s event promises to be an exciting day celebrating and honoring the career of Professor H.C. Brown.  The program includes a diverse array of topics from the fields of synthetic and physical Organic Chemistry by a distinguished group of plenary speakers:


Jeffrey Bode, ETH Zürich:  Protein Synthesis with the KAHA Ligation”

Samuel Gellman, University of Wisconsin – Madison:  Impact of Backbone Modifications on the Information Content of Peptidic Foldamers”

Kazunori Kataoka, The University of Tokyo:  Fantastic Voyage by Supramolecular Nanosystems: Challenge from Polymer Chemistry Toward Smart Targeted Therapy of Intractable Diseases”

Scott J. Miller, Yale University:  Searching for Selective Catalytic Reactions in Complex Molecular Environments


All interested students, faculty, and scientists are welcome to attend.  Registration is free, and includes lunch for all participants who register by Friday, April 7, 2017.  We also encourage student participants to present their recent works at our poster session and competition, with prizes awarded for the best posters.
